HARRISBURG, Pa. – With both clubs sitting outside the race for the 2017 USL Cup Playoffs, the Harrisburg City Islanders welcome Toronto FC II with a chance to close the gap in the USL Eastern Conference in Saturday’s match at 7 p.m. ET at FNB Field.

Harrisburg City Islanders news and notes

  • Current record: 7-14-7, 28pts

  • Harrisburg gave up a stoppage-time goal against FC Cincinnati on Tuesday night at FNB Field as it was forced to settle for a 1-1 draw that kept the side in 13th place in the Eastern Conference.

  • Jonny Mendoza put the City Islanders ahead with a well placed strike in the 51st minute and a strong defensive performance appeared to be earning the win until the stoppage-time equalizer from former City Islanders player Jimmy McLaughlin earned a point for Cincinnati.

  • The City Islanders are now eight points out of the playoff positions with four games to go in the regular season, and appear set to miss the postseason for a third consecutive year after reaching the USL Cup Final in 2014.

  • Goalkeeper Brandon Miller sits 10th in the USL with 65 saves this season, a new single-season high for the third-year goalkeeper.

Toronto FC II news and notes

  • Current record: 5-16-7, 22pts

  • Toronto FC II squandered a first-half lead in its last outing against the New York Red Bulls II last Saturday night, conceding two penalty kicks to fall to a 2-1 loss at BMO Field.

  • The defeat to the Red Bulls II saw Toronto officially eliminated from playoff contention this season as the side sits last in the USL Eastern Conference.

  • TFC II will be without Jordan Hamilton on Saturday night as he serves a one-game suspension for his red card against the Red Bulls II. Hamilton leads Toronto with five goals this season.

  • Defender Brandon Aubrey is third in the USL this season with 82 interceptions, trailing only the Pittsburgh Riverhounds' Taylor Washington (93) and FC Cincinnati's Harrison Delbridge (91).

Series Notes

  • The City Islanders have only lost one match to TFC II in their history with a 4-1-1 record all-time.
