Helped launch Major League Soccer’s Fire, RSL in previous positions

LAS VEGAS – Las Vegas Lights FC made a major addition to its front office this week as it announced the hiring of former Chicago Fire and Real Salt Lake executive Steve Pastorino to its front office as Vice President, Corporate Partnerships for the 2018 USL Expansion club.

Twice named Major League Soccer’s Marketing Executive of the Year, Pastorino brings a unique background to the position as a native of Venezuela who grew up in both the United States and Latin America. After success in establishing both the Fire and RSL, for which he was the club’s first General Manager, Pastorino is aiming to do the same with the Lights as they join the USL next season.

"Soccer, and particularly the growth of the sport in an increasingly diverse U.S., has always been my passion," said Pastorino. "We are creating a legacy for everyone in the southern Nevada community to live, love and share the world's most popular game for generations to come.”

Pastorino will bring his expertise, which saw him most recently serving as Senior Director of Corporate Partnerships for Major League Baseball’s Oakland Athletics, to Las Vegas as the club builds toward its inaugural season at Cashman Field next spring. CEO Brett Lashbrook is excited to have someone with Pastorino’s experience on board.

“Las Vegas Lights FC is committed to operating at the highest level, and today's hire is further proof of our commitment to sustaining long-term success,” said Lashbrook. “Steve's extensive knowledge and experience of launching professional soccer clubs will be invaluable as we steadfastly aim to grow Las Vegas Lights FC into a model soccer franchise.”
