TAMPA, Fla. – The following is the USL’s discipline report for Week 25 of the 2017 United Soccer League season:
Ottawa Fury FC’s Gerardo Bruna and Toronto FC II’s Jordan Hamilton have been suspended for one game apiece after being sent off in their respective matches this past Saturday. Bruna will miss Fury FC’s game against the Charlotte Independence, and Hamilton will miss TFC II’s game against the Harrisburg City Islanders – both on Sept. 16.
Portland Timbers 2 Head Coach Andrew Gregor has also been suspended for one game after being sent from the bench area during T2’s game with Real Monarchs SLC on Saturday night. Gregor will be suspended for Portland’s game against Reno 1868 FC on Sept. 23.
Three players have been suspended for one game for caution accumulation in the past week, with Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC’s Tae-Song Kim set to miss this Saturday’s game against Seattle Sounders FC 2. Saint Louis FC’s Konrad Plewa and Ivan Mirkovic will both miss STLFC’s game this Saturday against Orlando City B.
Three other players were handed suspensions for caution accumulation in Week 25, and served their suspensions this past weekend. The Harrisburg City Islanders’ Mouhamed Dabo and Tiago Calvano were absent from their club’s contest with Saint Louis FC this past Saturday, and Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2’s Francis de Vries was absent from WFC2’s contest with OKC Energy FC this past Sunday.
Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC’s Josh Phillips, Louisville City FC’s Paco Craig and Phoenix Rising FC’s Shaun Wright-Phillips are no longer on caution accumulation warning, having had one caution removed under the USL’s Good Behavior incentive to place them on three cautions for the season.
San Antonio FC’s Stephen McCarthy is also no longer on caution accumulation warning, having had one caution removed under the USL’s Good Behavior incentive to place him on six cautions for the season.
The following 37 players enter their upcoming matches one caution away from a yellow card accumulation suspension. A fifth caution would result in a one-game suspension and undisclosed fine. Here is the breakdown per club:
