Harrisburg City Islanders news and notes

  • Current record: 7-14-6, 27pts

  • The City Islanders grabbed a dramatic victory on Saturday night as a stoppage-time goal by Pedro Ribeiro earned a 2-1 victory against Saint Louis FC at Toyota Stadium – Saint Louis.

  • The victory snapped an eight-game winless streak for Harrisburg, which had last taken victory on July 15 against the Richmond Kickers.

  • Ribeiro’s goal was his third of the season, and his first since returning from a mid-season injury that hampered Harrisburg’s attack. In the past two outings Harrisburg has scored four goals after being held scoreless for six consecutive games.

  • City Islanders midfielder Abass Mohammed is third in the league in tackles won with 61, and sixth in the league in duels won with 149.

  • Andrew Wiedeman scored the equalizer for FCC against Pittsburgh, which had taken an early lead at Nippert Stadium.

  • Goalkeeper Mitch Hildebrandt sits second in the USL with 81 saves this season as the side has recorded only six shutouts in 26 games so far this season.

  • FCC forward Djiby Fall is tied for the league-lead with five headed goals this season, almost half of his 11 goals in the USL regular season.

Series Notes

  • Cincinnati took a 3-0 victory at Nippert Stadium in a lightning-delayed contest earlier this season and is now 2-0-1 all-time against the City Islanders.
