San Antonio looks to build on big road victory

CARSON, Calif. – San Antonio FC will look to build on a big road win in its last outing when it visits the LA Galaxy II on Saturday night at StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. PT.

LA Galaxy II news and notes

  • Current record: 7-14-4, 25pts

  • The Galaxy II fell 2-1 on Wednesday night against Reno 1868 FC as a first-half goal by Raul Mendiola wasn’t enough to earn the side a second consecutive victory.

  • Los Dos are now nine points out of the playoff positions in the USL Western Conference with seven games to play in the regular season, and faces an uphill battle to reach the USL Cup Playoffs for a fourth consecutive season.

  • Stephen McCarthy scored the stoppage-time winner for SAFC, which had trailed with five minutes to go before an own goal leveled the scored with two minutes remaining.

  • SAFC midfielder Michael Reed, who provided the delivery on both set piece goals for the side against the Monarchs, was named to the USL Team of the Week for his performance.

  • San Antonio is now seven points behind the Monarchs with eight games to go in the regular season, with one game in hand on the Western Conference leaders.
