Rhinos look for third consecutive win against visiting Fury FC

Rochester, N.Y. – Looking to continue a good run of form and jump up in the USL Eastern Conference, the Rochester Rhinos welcome an increasingly desperate Ottawa Fury FC to Capelli Sport Stadium for a 6:05p.m. ET kickoff on Saturday.

Rochester Rhinos news and notes

  • Current record: 11-5-8, 41pts

  • The Rhinos come into this match following a 1-0 victory against Toronto FC II last Saturday to manage a second straight win.

  • Jalen Brown scored the only goal of that match just 10 minutes in, his first as a professional, and from there the Rhinos were able to close out the match.

  • With just two losses at home, the Rhinos will be hard to beat on Saturday. Looking for their eighth home win of the season the Rhinos would move into third place in the Eastern Conference with a victory.

  • Wal Fall will be a big absentee for the Rhinos in this match as he serves a one-game suspension for caution accumulation, leaving Rochester without its leading scorer for the match.

Ottawa Fury FC news and notes

  • Current record: 7-9-9, 30pts

  • Ottawa Fury FC continued its run of draws in recent weeks as they managed a 2-2 draw against Saint Louis FC last Sunday at TD Place.

  • Jonathan Barden opened the scoring for Fury FC, but Saint Louis took the lead in the second half before a Steevan Dos Santos penalty kick with two minutes to go earned Ottawa a point.

  • The result was Ottawa’s second straight draw, and its third in four matches as Fury FC sits five points out of the playoff positions with seven games to go in the regular season.

  • Since becoming the Interim Head Coach, Julian De Guzman has yet to win a match, and with an away record on the season of just 2-7-3, it could be a hard ask in Rochester on Saturday to earn that first win.

  • This will be a milestone game for Fury FC captain Carl Haworth, who is set to play his 100th game for the club.

Series Notes

  • This will be the third meeting between the two sides, and the last in this year's regular season. Rochester won the opener 1-0, before a 1-1 draw in July.
