Orange County SC news and notes

  • Current record: 7-7-8, 29pts

  • Orange County SC comes in to this match following another disappointing result, falling 2-1 to OKC Energy FC last Friday.

  • Jerry van Ewijk scored to pull Orange County back in to the match but they couldn’t haul in the OKC lead as the side's winless streak reached seven games.

  • A poor recent run of form has seen Orange County slip out of the USL Cup Playoffs places, and they are now four points adrift of the top eight, having not won since July 29th against Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2.

Reno 1868 FC news and notes

  • Current record: 12-5-6, 45pts

  • Reno 1868 FC continued an impressive run of form last Saturday as it managed a 1-0 win against the Swope Park Rangers, moving the side into third place in the USL Western Conference.

  • The goal came from a penalty, converted by Antoine Hoppenot in just the 10th minute and from there Reno was able to control the match.

  • Jimmy Ockford was named to the USL Team of the Week for his defensive performance in the match, managing eight clearances and two interceptions, while Hoppenot was named to the bench.

  • Reno is looking for its fifth consecutive victory on Saturday night, and the side is currently on an 11-game undefeated streak with its last loss coming on June 19th.

  • 1868 FC will be without USL leading scorer Dane Kelly on Saturday after he earned his first call-up to the Jamaican National Team for its international exhibition against Canada.
