Swope Park Rangers news and notes

  • Current record: 12-6-6, 42pts

  • The Rangers fell 1-0 to Reno 1868 FC last Saturday night as their winless streak reached six games.

  • Reno's goal came via a 10th-minute penalty kick by Antoine Hoppenot, and from there the Rangers were unable to break down the 1868 FC defense.

  • Swope Park dominated possession against Reno with 63.1 percent of the ball but struggled to get shots on target, managing just two for a shooting accuracy of 14.3 percent.

  • The Rangers will be without defender Amer Didic (Canada) and midfielder James Musa (New Zealand), both of whom were called up for international duty this week.

OKC Energy FC news and notes

  • Current record: 9-9-6, 33pts

  • Energy FC comes into this match following a 2-1 win against Orange County SC last Friday night, arresting a short downturn in form.

  • OKC managed a 2-0 lead through a goal by Alex Dixon followed by an own goal from OCSC's Joe Franco before holding off a late rally by the hosts to remain in the eighth and final playoff position in the USL's Western Conference.

  • Despite being mostly restricted to shots outside the penalty area, with 10 of its 16 shots coming from long range, Energy FC was more clinical than Orange County in their encounter, managing a 37.5 percent shooting accuracy.

  • Consistency has been a struggle for Energy FC this season as they have only managed to win consecutive matches on two occasions.

Series Notes

  • Energy FC leads the overall series between the teams 3-2-0, with Swope Park winning the only match the two have played so far this season.
