IRVINE, Calif. – Orange County SC announced on Thursday the club had sighed forward Irvin Parra, previously of Seattle Sounders FC 2. A native of Inglewood, Calif., Parra was released by S2 to allow him to sign with Orange County to be closer to his family as he and his wife expect their second child.

Parra is in the middle of a strong season, in which he scored six goals and led S2 with six assists prior to his move to Orange County this week. The 24-year-old was voted the USL Player of the Week for Week 11 of the regular season, and will now look to help Orange County’s push to reach the USL Cup Playoffs.

"We appreciate Irvin's efforts since he joined the organization last summer," Sounders FC Director of Player Personnel Kurt Schmid said. "His experience and work ethic helped many of our young players in their development. We wish Irvin and his family all the best moving forward."

Parra previously began his professional career with FC 08 Homburg, in Germany. He went on to make 30 appearances at SVN Zweibruken and 27 appearances with FC Kaiserslautern II.
