Louisville City FC news and notes

  • Current record: 13-5-5, 44pts

  • Louisville saw its run of impressive wins come to an end at the hands of in-form Orlando City B on Saturday night.

  • Managing 66.7% possession in the match, Louisville controlled the match, managing 20 shots, but the hosts were unable to beat OCB goalkeeper Jake Fenlason, who recorded an eight-save shutout.

  • The three-goal loss was just the second home loss of the season for Louisville and was their biggest loss of the season.

  • Despite the loss on Saturday midfielder Mark Anthony-Kaye earned a place in the USL Team of the Week following his good performance in a 5-0 victory against the Harrisburg City Islanders the previous Wednesday night.

  • Louisville has bounced back every single time they have lost this season, winning the match immediately after a loss on all four occasions.

Charleston Battery news and notes

  • Current record: 11-6-8, 41pts

  • The Battery come in to this match following a disappointing 3-1 loss to the Richmond Kickers last Saturday, dropping their away record back below .500.

  • Despite opening the scoring through a Heviel Cordoves goal, the Battery couldn’t maintain that lead falling to defeat against their longtime rival.

  • The Battery led the contest against the Kickers in shots (9-6), but lost the majority of the duels, winning just 46.5 percent, which reflected part of how Richmond got the result.

  • Charleston will continue to be without the services of their leading scorer Romario Williams in this match as he will be away on international duty with Jamaica on Saturday night. The international exhibition could also featured Louisville's Mark-Anthony Kaye (Canada) and Speedy Williams (Jamaica) after both were named to the respective squads.

Series Notes

  • The Battery lead the regular season record between these two sides is 2-1-3 but Louisville leads the overall series, having eliminated Charleston in the USL Cup Playoffs in the last two seasons. This is the final regular-season match between the two sides this season with the previous two being draws.
