Nashville SC joins the USL, the largest second division professional sports league in the United States that is still growing.

What is the USL?

The USL is the fastest and one of the most prominent second division professional soccer leagues in the world. The growth of soccer in North America is led by the USL reaching a population of 75 million people, which is 25% of America’s television households.

Just since 2014, the USL has almost doubled in size. Nashville SC is the first club set to join for the 2018 season along with Fresno FC and Las Vegas, as well as Birmingham who is scheduled to join in 2019.

The USL also provides national media coverage with ESPN and SiriusXM. The league has invested $10 million to assist in USL Productions that promote the league and contribute to continuing the growth of soccer in North America. Look for Nashville SC to be popping up on your local or national channels soon!

When Nashville steps on the field as a professional soccer team in March of 2018, they will be competing for a spot in the USL Cup. The top eight teams from both the Eastern Conference and Western Conference will advance to the USL Playoffs, with four weeks of postseason action set to crown the league’s next champion. The fixed-seed format concludes with the USL Cup Final, which is held at the venue of the conference champion with the best regular season record (which we hope will be First Tennessee Park!)
