OTTAWA – Ramon Martin Del Campo scrambled home an equalizer in stoppage time as Ottawa Fury FC picked up a 2-2 draw against the New York Red Bulls II in front of 6,694 fans at TD Place Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Ottawa forward Steevan Dos Santos continued his good scoring form, opening the scoring in the 21st minute as he hit a powerful left-footed volley from a headed flick on by Del Campo. In the 33rd minute the New York Red Bulls II got back on level terms thanks to a well played free kick. Andrew Tinari floated the ball in, perfectly finding his midfield teammate Florian Valot, who was left free to head it home. Fury FC struggled to start the second half, giving NYRBII chances that it could not take as Ottawa strengthened its defensive effort in the half. But 11 minutes from time the Red Bulls II finally broke down the stern defense as Tinari put away a blocked effort to finally give New York the lead. Just when it seemed New York would hold on for the win Del Campo was able to scramble the ball home for a 2-2 draw.

Three Things That Matter:

• 1. For the first time since taking over as Head Coach of Ottawa Fury FC, Julian De Guzman named an unchanged lineup for Fury FC. The decision likely reflects that he is getting a handle on what his best team is, after now four matches in charge of the team. With a draw De Guzman earned his second point in charge of the team, and will be hoping things continue to improve as Fury FC attempt to reach the USL Cup Playoffs.

• 2. The New York Red Bulls II's road woes continued, just when it looked like they would get their second win of the season they succumbed to a late draw. That record will need to improve if New York is to solidify a place in the USL playoffs, as five of their last seven matches of the season are on the road.

• 3. While the draw leaves both teams sitting outside of the playoffs, it still gives Fury FC hope of making the playoffs, now sitting four points outside of the USL Eastern Conference top eight with a game in hand. New York would have been in the USL Cup Playoffs places had it held on and will now face a fight to get in and defend their title with five of their last seven matches against teams above them in the Eastern Conference.
