USL Discipline Report – Week 22

TAMPA, Fla. – The following is the USL’s discipline report for Week 22 of the 2017 United Soccer League season:

Louisville City FC’s Kyle Smith has been suspended for three games after being sent off for violent conduct in Sunday’s game against Bethlehem Steel FC. Smith will miss Wednesday night’s game with the Harrisburg City Islanders, as well as Louisville’s games with Orlando City B (Aug. 26) and the Charleston Battery (Sept. 2).
 
Bethlehem Steel FC forward Seku Conneh has also been suspended for three games by the Independent Disciplinary Panel for violent conduct in the same contest. Conneh will miss Bethlehem’s games against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds (Aug. 26), Orlando City B (Aug. 31) and the Tampa Bay Rowdies (Sept. 9).
 
Three players have been suspended for one game after receiving red cards in Week 22. FC Cincinnati’s Josu is suspended for Wednesday night’s game with Ottawa Fury FC, Phoenix Rising FC’s A.J. Gray is suspended for his team’s game with Sacramento Republic FC on Aug. 26 and the New York Red Bulls II’s Hassan Ndam is suspended for his club’s game with Fury FC on Aug. 27.
 
Six players have been suspended for caution accumulation, including Sacramento Republic FC midfielder Jeremy Hall and defender Chris Christian, who will both miss Wednesday night’s game with the Swope Park Rangers.
 
Also set to serve suspensions are Orange County SC’s Richard Chaplow against OKC Energy FC on Aug. 25, Orlando City B’s Paul Clowes against Louisville City FC on Aug. 26, the Charleston Battery’s Romario Williams against the Richmond Kickers on Aug. 26 and the Portland Timbers 2’s Rennico Clarke against San Antonio FC on Aug. 26.
 
Sacramento Republic FC’s Trevin Caesar is no longer on caution accumulation warning, having had one caution removed under the USL’s Good Behavior incentive to place him on three cautions for the season.
 
The following 32 players enter their upcoming matches one caution away from a yellow card accumulation suspension. A fifth caution would result in a one-game suspension and undisclosed fine. Here is the breakdown per club:

  • Charleston Battery (1): Taylor Mueller

  • Charlotte Independence (1): Enzo Martinez

  • Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC (2): Josh Phillips, Tae-Seong Kim

  • FC Cincinnati (1): Sem de Wit

  • Harrisburg City Islanders (1): Mouhamed Dabo

  • Louisville City FC (1): Paco Craig

  • New York Red Bulls II (2): David Abidor, Andrew Tinari

  • OKC Energy FC (1): Coady Andrews

  • Orlando City B (1): Seb Hines

  • Phoenix Rising FC (4): Omar Bravo, JJ Greer, Didier Drogba, Shaun Wright-Phillips

  • Pittsburgh Riverhounds (1): Danny Earls

  • Real Monarchs SLC (1): Michael Gallagher

  • Reno 1868 FC (2): Jordan Murrell, Lindo Mfeka

  • Rochester Rhinos (1): Wal Fall

  • San Antonio FC (4): Sebastien Ibeagha, Cesar Elizondo, Mark O’Ojong, Kris Tyrpak

  • Swope Park Rangers (1): Liam Doyle

  • Tampa Bay Rowdies (1): Keith Savage

  • Toronto FC II (1): Liam Fraser

  • Tulsa Roughnecks FC (1): Jorge Luis Corrales

  • Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 (1): Francis de Vries

The following are one caution away from a yellow card accumulation suspension for receiving an eighth caution, which would result in a one-game suspension and undisclosed fine:

  • Orlando City B (2): Richie Laryea, Zach Ellis-Hayden

  • San Antonio FC (1): Stephen McCarthy
