Bethlehem Steel FC Head Coach Brendan Burke
Opening statement
I thought we played really well in the first half. We made a couple of critical errors and those burn you in a game like that where you're playing a top team and they make you pay. We talked about it at halftime. We had to go back out, produce the same performance and goals should come. [Louisville's] keeper stood on his head. [Ranjitsingh] was really good today. He made three or four game-changing saves and that's tough to overcome. Despite the good performance, we get nothing out of it. It's frustrating because Charlotte was a good performance as well. I would say in the last 20 minutes the game got away from us a little bit. The inability of the man in the middle to control the environment didn't help that but we need to be stronger than that and stick to our style of play, continue to keep on the floor and play through the lines. Disappointing to put on a good performance but also the positive is we put on a good performance in the first half and for part of the second half. We just have to keep at it and things will break our way."

On the organization of Louisville's play…
"They do a lot of hard running offensively, they work for each other and don't get exposed much. Yes, I would agree [they are the most organized team we've played this season]."

On Aaron Jones and Richie Marquez's play on the first goal…
"Aaron [Jones] has been really good with set pieces all year. He delivers in the air as we ask him to. Then it's about some of our bigger athletes going, attacking the ball and Richie [Marquez] did a great job in that moment. He had another one that almost went for him as well. Just good execution on the set piece."

On having Maurice Edu today…
"It's awesome. It's
good experience for our guys to be around [Edu] and I was really happy for him. That was a good 30 minutes he played. Really good. Controlled the tempo of the game in midfield and you hope he gets more next time out."

On playing tough competition as of late…
"We just play the top two teams in the East over the last four days and in my
opinion we out played both of them for long stretches of the game. We should be really positive. It's about limiting critical errors going forward. Outside of that, we're playing well."

On upcoming matches and being in a playoff race…
"Those are big games. Those are going to have
little bit of a playoff feel to them, which is great for development, but it's also great for the fan base and all of us want to win. It's not just always about development, winning is woven into that. I think it's important that we feel the positive results of being able to grind out a win in this league with young guys and we've been doing it."

Midfielder Maurice Edu
Thoughts on the process getting back on the field…

"The process is what it is. It's out of my control. All I can do is deal with what is in front of me and that is keep working [hard] with the medical staff to get fit. This was the next step in the progression. All good and now I'm eager get some more minutes under my belt and get closer and closer to getting back with the first team as soon as possible."

On how he physically felt…
"I felt good.
Obviously you're kind of tentative at first or you feel like you may be tentative at first after being out for so long. I kind of
played free. I wasn't too worried about my injury at this point. I was just out there just trying to win the game. I felt pretty good. Felt good to be back to be back on the pitch. Unfortunate with the result but from a personal stand point I felt good with the minutes I got and like I said I'm just eager to get more."

On the level of play he experienced in today's match…
"Regardless of the environment you're playing in it's up to you and every individual to push yourself and hold yourself to a standard and that's what I tried to do. I think the guys out there did the same. Everyone tried to hold themselves to a high standard and on the day we didn't get the result we wanted. There were definitely some positives to take from the game and I look forward to the next one."

On his chemistry with the team…
"
Yeah. I know the team, quite a few of them train with us. I trained with them in the past few days so that wasn't really an issue. Like I said, I know the guys, they know me so that wasn't an issue at all.”
