Rowdies look to continue home run as Fury FC visits

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Tampa Bay Rowdies will try to continue a four-game home winning streak when they play host to Ottawa Fury FC on Saturday night at Al Lang Stadium, with Fury FC looking to bounce back from a defeat in the first of its two games in Florida this week. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.

Tampa Bay Rowdies news and notes

  • Current record: 10-6-7, 37pts

  • The Rowdies fell 4-3 to Saint Louis FC last Sunday in its most recent outing as the club’s road struggles continued at Toyota Stadium – Saint Louis.

  • Tampa Bay has been excellent at Al Land Stadium, by contrast, and has posted four consecutive shutout victories at home going into Saturday’s contest.

  • Forward Martin Paterson has scored five goals in the past six games for the Rowdies, moving him into a tie with Georgi Hristov for the team-lead on seven.

  • The Rowdies announced in midweek that Jamaican international Damion Lowe had been transferred to Norwegian club IK Start.

  • Fury FC fell 3-0 to Orlando City B on Wednesday night at Orlando City Stadium as the side remained outside the top eight in the USL’s Eastern Conference.

  • Ottawa outshot OCB 20-10 for the contest, but Gerardo Bruna’s saved penalty kick was among the chances that were denied as the hosts claimed victory.

  • Wednesday’s game was the first in charge for interim Head Coach Julian de Guzman, who took over this week after the resignation of Paul Dalglish.

  • Fury FC has recorded only two victories away from home this season, going 2-6-2 on the road in its inaugural season in the USL.
