Bethlehem welcomes Toronto seeking to get back into top four hunt

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Both teams may be chasing different goals at this stage of the season but that has not made this any less vital of a match with Bethlehem Steel and Toronto FC II both needing all three points in Sunday’s match at Goodman Stadium, which kicks off at 5:00pm

Bethlehem Steel FC news and notes

Current record: 9-8-3, 30pts

Bethlehem Steel FC broke a three match winless run as they defeated Ottawa Fury 2-1 in Canada last week, the first match in this two match series against Canadian opposition.

Coming from behind in the second half on goals from Chris Nanco and Santi Moar, Bethlehem got a vital three points to arrest their recent slide.

Nanco was in particularly good form in that match, creating four chances, and scoring once to earn a place on the USL Team of the Week.

Toronto FC II news and notes

Current record: 4-12-6, 18pts

Toronto FC II come in to this match in the best form they’ve had in a month, managing to pick up a point against leaders Charlotte Independence with a 2-2 draw at BMO Field on Wednesday.

On the big stage Toronto did not disappoint managing a dramatic equalizer through Jordan Hamilton in stoppage time to claim the point, and seal his brace as he also opened the scoring in the 49th minute.

It was a valuable point for Toronto, who had lost their last four matches, and found themselves sliding down the table.

Toronto goalkeeper, Angelo Cavalluzo was named in the USL Team of the Week bench last week, and a strong performance again here could go a long way to helping him get on the main 11 list.

Series Notes

Toronto FC II leads the all time series 2-1.
