Reno 1868 FC news and notes

Current record: 9-5-6, 33pts

Reno 1868 FC comes in to a big match after a thrilling 3-2 win against Tulsa Roughnecks last Saturday.

After taking a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Antoine Hoppenot and yet another goal from Dane Kelly, Tulsa came back and equalized, only for Chris Wehan to score the winner with six minutes to play.

That goal from Wehan helped him earn USL Team of the Week honors as he managed that goal and his ninth assist of the year.

Reno comes in on form, having lost just one of their last eight matches.

San Antonio FC news and notes

Current record: 11-1-8, 41pts

San Antonio FC enters another match having conceded late the week earlier, as they gave up a stoppage time equalizer in a 1-1 draw against Orange County SC last Saturday.

Kris Tyrpak scored the fastest goal in San Antonio FC history, less than two minutes in to the match, earning himself a place on the USL Team of the Week bench, but it wasn’t enough as Orange County SC managed a goal with almost the last kick of the game.

That was the third time in the last four matches that San Antonio FC had conceded a goal late in the match, and with Reno scoring late soften it sets up a thrilling match in Nevada this weekend.

Series Notes

This is the second time these sides have met, with San Antonio FC having won the previous meeting 4-0.
