RGV FC returns to Texas following a thrilling match to end their road trip, defeating Seattle Sounders FC 2 4-3 on Saturday.

Twice coming from behind the Toros managed to overcome a strong resistance from the Seattle attack, Kyle Murphy scored the first, and assisted on the winner, with Jorginho James, Jose Escalante, and Joseph Holland scoring the other three goals.

Murphy’s performance earned him a place on the USL Team of the Week, after his goal earlier in the week in the road trip.

That result was the first win for RGV FC in six matches, and they will be looking for that result to spark them forward.

Phoenix Rising FC news and notes

Current record: 7-7-4, 25pts

Phoenix Rising FC got a strong start to their three game road trip as they managed a 2-0 victory over LA Galaxy II on Saturday night.

Both goals came in the first half with Didier Drogba opening the scoring in the 13th minute with a rocket free kick before Alessandro Riggi put away the second at the end of the half, earning himself a place on the USL Team of the Week bench.

Phoenix have won just two matches on the road, and have yet to manage appoint against a Texas team, losing both matches to San Antonio FC.

The one match the two sides have played was a 1-1 draw in Texas last year.
