Ottawa Fury news and notes
Current record: 6-7-6, 24pts
Ottawa Fury come into this match after falling in an entertaining match 2-1 to Bethlehem Steel last Saturday.
The goal for the Fury came from an own goal from Auston Trusty, early in the match, and Ottawa just could not keep hold of that lead, conceding the equalizer in the 66th minute, and the winner in the 81st.
Ottawa are in somewhat of a poor patch of form currently, winning just one of their last four matches, but that loss last weekend was just their second home loss of the season.
Charlotte Independence news and notes
Current record: 11-3-6, 39pts
In the opening match of Charlotte’s Canadian journey, the Independence were held to a 2-2 draw against Toronto FC II.
Their opener came from an own goal from Mark Pais before a red card to Donald Smith seemed to end their chances of a result, only for Jaime Siaj to score when Charlotte was down to ten men, but they couldn’t hold on, with Toronto claiming the equalizer in stoppage time.
As a result of that red card Charlotte will be without Smith for this match, who will serve a suspension for the straight red card.
One man who will be available will be the USL player of the week Enzo Martinez, playing one week on from scoring a hat trick that put Charlotte top of the standings.
