TAMPA, Fla. – San Antonio FC goalkeeper Diego Restrepo claimed the USL Fans’ Choice Save of the Week for Week 19 of the 2017 season, with his diving save against Phoenix Rising FC last Saturday night that helped earn a big road victory finishing top of the weekly online poll.

Restrepo was at his best against Phoenix on Saturday night as he recorded his eighth shutout of the season to move into a tie for the league-lead. He was tested early on as a strong header by Rising FC forward Didier Drogba was targeted for the left corner of the net, but Restrepo went at full stretch to turn the effort wide of the post.

Restrepo received 80 percent of the poll conducted online at USLSoccer.com that concluded on Thursday morning. Toronto FC II’s Mark Pais took second place for his low, left-handed save to deny the Rochester Rhinos’ Stefan Defregger with 13 percent, while the Swope Park Rangers’ Adrian Zendejas finished third for his fingertip save on Reno 1868 FC’s Dane Kelly on Sunday afternoon.
