As part of Nashville SC's partnership with Tennessee State Soccer Association, we hosted the first of five coaching clinics focused on eight-week cycles that makes up a curriculum for the full year. The curriculum comes from four bi-weekly topics that match the sessions’ topic and is there to support and help the development of the U12 group across Tennessee. “The curriculum adds another layer in the pathway that these young players can travel," Head Coach Gary Smith said.

Coach Smith led 16 U12 players from around the Nashville area through a day of twelve practical sessions for ten coaches to observe and see how the sessions are implemented. Sessions ranged from warm ups to main topics related to the first eight-week cycle’s focus, possession and ball retention.

The young players on show adapted well to the workload and new environment making the overall day a major success and setting the standard for future clinics. The clinic created a professional environment and visual of what the future of professional soccer development will look like.
