CARSON, Calif. – The LA Galaxy II announced on Thursday that forward Adonis Amaya underwent successful surgery to repair his torn ACL suffered in a Los Dos match earlier this month. With the injury, Amaya will miss the rest of the season.
Earning the start for the team’s away match against the Portland Timbers 2 on July 9, Amaya was forced to exit the match after he sustained the injury in the 22nd minute of the match. The Galaxy II went on to win the game 4-3 in a comeback thriller.
The LA Galaxy Academy product signed with Los Dos in March of 2015 at the age of 18. Amaya had scored two goals in 11 matches for Los Dos this season, and recorded four goals and five assists for the club in a successful 2016 season.
