Kickers welcome Steel FC for second meeting this season

Richmond Kickers news and notes

  • Current record: 2-10-6, 12pts

  • The Kickers fell 1-0 to the Harrisburg City Islanders last Saturday night to remain bottom of the Eastern Conference.

  • Richmond’s league winless streak has now reached 13 games, as the side sits 11 points out of the eighth and final playoff place with 14 games remaining in the regular season.

  • The Kickers welcomed a crowd of 8,119 to City Stadium on Wednesday night as it faced the Premier League’s Swansea City AFC in an international exhibition.

  • Franck Tayou scored a second-half goal for the Kickers, but the Swans grabbed a winner with 11 minutes to go to take a 2-1 win in the second meeting between the clubs.

  • Steel FC earned a 1-1 draw against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds last Saturday at Goodman Stadium to remain in fifth place in the Eastern Conference.

  • Bethlehem’s undefeated streak has now reached eight games, with five wins and three draws since a 1-0 loss to Eastern Conference-leader the Charleston Battery on May 25.
