HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Harrisburg City Islanders announced on Friday the signing of midfielder Jason Plumhoff for the remainder of the 2017 season.

Plumhoff returns to the City Islanders after leaving the club following his rookie professional debut during the 2015 season. During his one prior season with the club, Plumhoff appeared in 22 matches and led the team in scoring with 10 goals.

"We had a chance to pick [Plumhoff] up and I think he's a guy that will add a lot to our team," said City Islanders Head Coach Bill Becher. "He is very crafty and clever on the ball, serves a good ball, and has got a good shot with either foot. He's a dangerous guy on free kicks so I think he is certainly a guy that should be able to help our team and we look forward to him contributing."

Plumhoff started his soccer career in the United States after moving from Germany when he was 15 years old. He played college soccer at La Salle University where he scored 27 goals in his 73 appearances.

While still in college, Plumhoff played for two PDL teams, the Ocean City Nor'easters in 2012 followed by the Reading United AC in 2013. Plumhoff made a total of 15 appearances for the Nor'easters, scoring two goals, and then logged 14 appearances for United where he earned PDL All-League honors after scoring four goals and nine assists.
