Seattle Sounders FC 2 news and notes
Current record: 7-9-2, 23pts
Seattle fell for a second consecutive outing on Sunday as Orange County SC took a 2-1 victory at Starfire Stadium behind a goal and assist from Wuilito Fernandes.
David Olsen scored for S2 to tie the game in the first half, but while the hosts had good spells of pressure, they were unable to break down OCSC’s resolute defense in the second half.
Sunday’s loss marked the first time since April S2 had suffered back-to-back defeats. Then the side lost consecutively to San Antonio FC and Real Monarchs SLC, who currently sit as the top two teams in the West.
Both Zach Mathers and Ray Saari have created 22 scoring chances this season, tied for the team-high.
