The second edition spotlights top domestic, international talent

For those who last year followed the inaugural edition of the USL 20 Under 20, the 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup included a pair of familiar names.

There was former New York Red Bulls II standout Tyler Adams, No. 5 on the 2016 list, acting as a dynamo in the United States’ midfield. Alongside him was 2016’s No. 10 selection Derrick Jones, the first signing in Bethlehem Steel FC history. Jones’ range and defensive presence made him one of the tournament’s breakout performers.

The second edition of the series featuring the top young players that have competed in the USL this season kicks off this week, with more names fans should get familiar with as they move into the spotlight. For a second consecutive year, the guidance of Technical Directors and Coaches across the league has formed the group, and the staff from TopDrawerSoccer.com – the authoritative source on young professionals, college players and Academy prospects in the United States – has provided the insight.

With more than 100 players eligible for inclusion – using the FIFA U20 World Cup age cutoff of January 1, 1997 – the countdown begins here for the players to watch for the rest of this season, and potentially well into the future for club and country.
