Johnson Named USL Player of the Week

(PHOENIX) June 20, 2017 – Phoenix Rising FC forward Jason Johnson was named the United Soccer League Player of the Week and to the Team of the Week for Week 17. This is the seventh time a Phoenix Rising FC player has been named to the team of the week and the first time a player has been named the player of the week. It is the second time Johnson has been named to the Team of the Week.

 

Johnson scored both goals in Phoenix Rising FC’s 2-1 win over Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on Saturday, July 17. He came into the match as a halftime substitute by head coach Patrice Carteron.

 

Phoenix Rising FC heads on the road this week when they take on Tulsa Roughnecks FC on Saturday, July 22. Kickoff is at 5:30 p.m. Fans can attend the club’s official watch party at the Thirsty Lion in Tempe Marketplace

 

The team returns home on Saturday, July 29, to take on San Antonio FC, who are currently in second place in the USL’s Western Conference.
