HARRISON, N.J. – The New York Red Bulls II’s leading scorer Brandon Allen is on the move, with the New York Red Bulls announcing on Saturday the club had loaned the Homegrown standout to fellow Major League Soccer club Minnesota United FC for the remainder of the season.

"Brandon has performed well at the USL level," said Red Bulls Sporting Director Denis Hamlett. "This move will allow him to continue to gain experience as a professional, including an opportunity to get minutes in MLS."

Allen, an Old Bridge, N.J., native, signed with New York as a Homegrown player on December 21, 2015. The forward has seen the majority of his playing time with New York Red Bulls II, tallying 46 games played with 44 starts since the start of the 2016 season.

Allen has scored 30 goals in the regular season and playoffs for the Red Bulls II over the past two seasons, including a team-leading nine so far this season. He was named the USL Rookie of the Year and the MVP of the 2016 USL Cup Final in which he recorded a hat trick in a 5-1 victory against the Swope Park Rangers at Red Bull Arena.
