Independence look to continue streak in visit to Red Bulls II

New York Red Bulls II news and notes

  • Current record: 6-8-3, 21pts

  • The Red Bulls II are coming off a 2-0 defeat on Wednesday night to the Harrisburg City Islanders, which saw the club slide out of the top eight in the Eastern Conference entering the weekend.

  • New York has conceded the most goals in the Eastern Conference this season, allowing 34 goals and recording only three shutouts in 2017.

  • Red Bulls II midfielder Vincent Bezecourt was included in the New York Red Bulls’ squad for Thursday night’s Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Quarterfinal against the New England Revolution.

  • Herrera scored five goals in two games in Week 16 to earn the USL Player of the Week honor on Tuesday. The Colombian has scored 49 regular-season goals in the USL.
