LA Galaxy II news and notes

  • Current record: 4-11-2, 14pts

  • The Galaxy II recorded a thrilling 4-3 victory against the Portland Timbers 2 on Sunday afternoon, rebounding from a two-goal first half deficit to take victory at Providence Park.

  • Adrian Vera scored twice in the opening five minutes of the second half to put Los Dos ahead before Justin Dhillon added an insurance goal that proved necessary as T2 rallied late.

  • Dhillon’s goal was his team-high fifth of the season, while Vera earned Team of the Week honors for his brace, which moved him to four goals for the year.

  • LA will try to both record back-to-back victories for the first time this season, and earn its first win on home turf since the 2017 opener, on Thursday night.

Tulsa Roughnecks FC news and notes

  • Current record: 7-8-0, 21pts

  • The Roughnecks rallied to take a 2-1 win against OKC Energy FC on Saturday night in the first Black Gold Derby of the 2017 season at Taft Stadium.

  • Tulsa trailed at halftime, but goals by Juan Pablo Caffa and Joey Calistri sent the side to its first win against Energy FC since the 2015 USL regular season.

  • Caffa will be unavailable for Thursday night’s game after receiving his fifth yellow card of the season, resulting in a one-game suspension.

  • The Roughnecks are the only team in the USL that has yet to record a draw this season, with each of its 15 games ending in a decisive result.
