ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando City B and the Pittsburgh Riverhounds certainly could have used a full three points on Saturday to help their presence in the Eastern Conference standings. However, neither side could find a goal as they played to a 0-0 draw at Orlando City Stadium. Kickoff was delayed by a little more than a half hour because of lightning. Earl Edwards Jr. made two saves for OCB and Keasel Broome made one save for the clean sheet for Pittsburgh. Orlando moves to 5-6-6 (21 points) overall and 1-2-5 at home. Pittsburgh is now 5-7-5 (20 points) overall and 2-2-4 on the road.

Three Things That Mattered:

  • 1. The Riverhounds’ offense was stagnant for a heavy portion of the match, and it wasn’t until Chevaughn Walsh’s attempt in the 56th minute when the visiting side finally took a shot of any sort. Pittsburgh did not have a shot for the entirety of the opening half. That said, the Riverhounds hung around and did improve in the other end of the pitch as the second half progressed. Against the run of play, the first minute of second-half stoppage time, Kevin Kerr nearly helped Pittsburgh steal three points as his lofting shot hit the crossbar.

  • 2. Before that moment in which Orlando held its breath, it was the host team that was lingering close to the net for much of the game. One of the closest opportunities in the second half came from Hadji Barry, whose header in the 49th minute across the goal mouth hit the far right post and caromed away from the frame.

  • 3. Orlando thoroughly had the better buildup from the opening whistle. OCB tested Riverhounds goalkeeper Keasel Broome in the 19th minute as Richie Laryea eluded his defender down the left side, and from a difficult angle, shot right-footed to force Broome to cover that near left post.

USLSoccer.com Man of the Match:
Hadji Barry, Orlando City B –
Barry created a couple of chances, including a ball that hit the right post, and his distribution was strong as well.
