Independence aims for club-record winning streak as STLFC visits

MATTHEWS, N.C. – The Charlotte Independence will try to set a club record with a fifth consecutive victory when they play host to a Saint Louis FC side that is in need of a win of its own at the Sportsplex at Matthews on Saturday night. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.

Charlotte Independence news and notes

Current record: 7-3-4, 25pts

  • The Independence claimed their fourth consecutive win on Tuesday night as they defeated the Pittsburgh Riverhounds 3-1 at Highmark Stadium.

  • Jorge Herrera led the way for the Independence with a pair of goals. The Colombian is now second on the team with six goals this season.

  • Charlotte previously claimed four consecutive wins in league play between April 16 and May 7, 2016.

  • The Independence have won both of their home games at the Sportsplex at Matthews since opening their new home on June 17.
