1868 FC hosts Los Dos for Monday night clash

RENO, Nev. – Reno 1868 FC and the LA Galaxy II meet for the first time in a Monday night clash at Greater Nevada Field, with a place in the Western Conference’s top four available to the hosts with a victory. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. PT, and the Video Assistant Referee system will be in use.

Reno 1868 FC news and notes

  • Current record: 6-4-4, 22pts

  • Reno was held to a 0-0 draw by Phoenix Rising FC in front of a club-record crowd of 7,092 on Friday night at Greater Nevada Field.

  • Leading scorer Dane Kelly had the chance to give 1868 FC the lead from the penalty spot just before halftime, but had his effort saved by Rising FC goalkeeper Josh Cohen.

  • 1868 FC recorded 17 shots, including six on target, against Phoenix as Chris Wehan created five scoring chances. Wehan is now fifth in the USL with 32 chances created for the season.

  • Reno is on a seven-game undefeated streak at Greater Nevada Field, with its only loss at home this season coming in its opening game of the season.

LA Galaxy II news and notes

  • Current record: 3-10-2, 11pts

  • The Galaxy II fell 1-0 to the Swope Park Rangers on Friday night, handing the side its 10th defeat of the season.

  • Los Dos didn’t register a shot on goal in the second half, and fell as the Rangers scored in the 64th minute through Nansel Selbol.

  • The Galaxy II’s next loss will tie the club for its most in a regular season. The team lost 11 games in the 2015 regular season.

  • Midfielder Ryo Fujii is suspended for Monday’s game after receiving his fifth yellow card of the season, but the side will see Ethan Zubak available for selection after completing his suspension.
