Cincinnati opens Florida swing after Open Cup success

ORLANDO, Fla. – FC Cincinnati opens a two-game trip to Florida when it visits Orlando City B on Saturday night at Orlando City Stadium coming off its victory in the 2017 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday night. Kickoff is set for 8:30 p.m. ET.

Orlando City B news and notes

  • Current record: 5-6-4, 19pts

  • Orlando moved back into playoff contention last Friday night with a 1-0 victory against the Rochester Rhinos at Capelli Sport Stadium.

  • Fernando Timbo scored his first goal of the season off an assist by Pierre da Silva as OCB claimed its fourth road win of the season.

  • Da Silva is now tied for second in the USL with six assists this season. The 18-year-old has also now surpassed his total of five assists in the 2016 USL regular season.

  • OCB is currently level on points with the eighth-place Charlotte Independence in the Eastern Conference, but has played three more games.

  • FC Cincinnati claimed a 2-0 victory against Saint Louis FC in its last league outing as an own goal and a second-half tally by Danni Konig gave the side victory.

  • FCC advanced to the Quarterfinals of the 2017 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday night as it defeated the Chicago Fire 3-1 in a penalty shootout after the sides had finished level 0-0 through regulation and overtime.

  • The game was played in front of the second-highest attendance in Open Cup history as 32,287 fans packed Nippert Stadium.

  • Cincinnati goalkeeper Mitch Hildebrandt played the decisive role in the win against Chicago, recording 10 saves in regulation and overtime and three in the shootout to send FCC through.
