Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 news and notes

  • Current record: 4-7-3, 15pts

  • Vancouver played to a 2-2 draw with OKC Energy FC last Saturday afternoon at Thunderbird Stadium as its winless streak reached three games.

  • WFC2 rallied twice to earn a point against Energy FC, as goals by Nazeem Bartman and Thomas Sanner answered OKC’s goals in either half.

  • Defender Dominick Zator will be unavailable for Saturday’s game after being sent off against OKC for receiving two yellow cards.

  • The contest could see the return to the lineup for Vancouver of Deklan Wynne, who was away on international duty with New Zealand at the FIFA 2017 Confederations Cup.

Seattle Sounders FC 2 news and notes

  • Sounders FC 2 fell 4-3 against Orange County SC last Saturday night in a wild contest that almost saw S2 rally from a three-goal deficit.

  • Zach Mathers was among the goal-scorers to give him three goals in the past two games, and the midfielder was named to the USL Team of the Week for his performances.

  • S2’s Sam Rogers, Francisco Narbon, Ray Saari and Irvin Parra were included in the starting lineup for Seattle Sounders FC’s Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup clash with the San Jose Earthquakes on Wednesday.

  • Seattle has alternated wins and losses in its last four games to leave the side in seventh place in the USL Western Conference entering the weekend.
