Rangers look to build on midweek victory in west coast visit

CARSON, Calif. – The Swope Park Rangers will look to build on a good road victory on Tuesday night when they visit the LA Galaxy II at StubHub Center Track and Field Stadium on Friday night. The game will utilize the Video Assistant Referee system, and kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. PT.

LA Galaxy II news and notes

  • Current record: 3-9-2, 11pts

  • The Galaxy II rallied strongly in the second half, but fell 3-2 to Sacramento Republic FC last Sunday night at the StubHub Center Track and Field Stadium.

  • After falling into a three-goal deficit in the first half, Los Dos’ Justin Dhillon and Adrian Vera found the net after the break, but the hosts were unable to complete the comeback.

  • Dhillon’s goal was his team-leading fourth of the season, with the 22-year-old currently averaging 127.2 minutes per goal this season.

  • Los Dos have yet to record back-to-back victories this season, and have not won at home since the opening game of the season on March 25 against Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2.

  • The Rangers earned a 2-1 victory against Tulsa Roughnecks FC on Tuesday night at ONEOK Field to move into the top four in the Western Conference.

  • Goals either side of halftime by Daniel Salloi and Mark Anthony Gonzalez gave the Rangers a two-goal lead, which they held for the win despite a goal by Tulsa’s Collin Fernandez.

  • Gonzalez’s goal was his third in two games against the Roughnecks this season, and the Canadian is now tied for the team-lead with four goals this season.

  • Swope Park’s victory against the Roughnecks was its first road victory of the season in 2017.
