Riverhounds goalkeeper scoops Week 14 award after triple-save against Rowdies

TAMPA, Fla. – Pittsburgh Riverhounds goalkeeper Keasel Broome claimed the USL Fans’ Choice Save of the Week after his outstanding late sequence of saves against the Tampa Bay Rowdies at Highmark Stadium earned top marks for Week 14 of the 2017 season in the weekly online poll.

Broome, who was entered into the lineup as a late injury replacement last Thursday night, recorded a shutout in the Hounds’ 2-0 victory that was capped by an outstanding string of three saves that denied the Rowdies a late opportunity to rally. Earlier this week Broome was also named to the USL Team of the Week for his overall display.

Broome’s triple-save received 66 percent of the poll conducted online at USLSoccer.com that concluded on Thursday morning. San Antonio FC goalkeeper Diego Restrepo’s save to deny Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC’s Josh Suggs finished second with 30 percent, while Orlando City B goalkeeper Earl Edwards Jr.’s reflex stop to deny the Rochester Rhinos’ Jordan Dover finished third.
