OKLAHOMA CITY – OKC Energy FC announced on Tuesday that midfielder Philip Rasmussen suffered a torn ACL during the team’s 2-2 draw vs. Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 this past Saturday, and was expected to miss the remainder of the 2017 USL season.

Prior to his injury, the Danish midfielder played 12 games and scored one goal in his first season with the club.

“We feel bad for Philip because he’s played well for us this season,” said Energy FC Head Coach Jimmy Nielsen.  “This is a big loss that we will have to overcome.”

The injury is the second serious one sustained by an Energy FC starter this month following the fractured elbow suffered by forward Wojciech Wojcik in the side’s game against Phoenix Rising FC on June 6.
