Orange County returns to action looking to gain ground in West

IRVINE, Calif. – Orange County SC returns to league action on Saturday evening when it plays host at the Orange County Great Park to a Seattle Sounders FC 2 side that has run hot and cold so far this month. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. PT.

Orange County SC news and notes

  • Current record: 3-4-1, 10pts

  • Orange County returns to league action for the first time since a 1-0 defeat to Real Monarchs SLC on June 3 at Orange County Great Park.

  • Forward Chandler Hoffman scored in the opening minute for the Monarchs, who then held firm defensively to earn the victory.

  • Orange County holds at least three games in hand on all its rivals in the Western Conference, and will look to make a strong move in the second half of the season.

  • OCSC announced on Thursday a major partnership with Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian, which became the club’s exclusive health care provider and primary jersey sponsor.

Seattle Sounders FC 2 news and notes

  • Seattle has won two of its last three outings, putting the side in fifth place in the tightly packed Western Conference standings.
