Orange County returns to league action for the first time since a 1-0 defeat to Real Monarchs SLC on June 3 at Orange County Great Park.
Forward Chandler Hoffman scored in the opening minute for the Monarchs, who then held firm defensively to earn the victory.
Orange County holds at least three games in hand on all its rivals in the Western Conference, and will look to make a strong move in the second half of the season.
OCSC announced on Thursday a major partnership with Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian, which became the club’s exclusive health care provider and primary jersey sponsor.
Seattle Sounders FC 2 news and notes

S2’s up-and-down season continued on Monday night when it took a 3-2 victory against OKC Energy FC at Starfire Stadium.
A pair of goals by Zach Mathers put Seattle up two goals at halftime, but Energy FC rallied to level the score before David Olsen scored a 90th-minute winner for S2.
Seattle has won two of its last three outings, putting the side in fifth place in the tightly packed Western Conference standings.
S2 is 2-3-1 on the road this season, taking victories against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC and the LA Galaxy II.
