Fury FC, Red Bulls II meet for second time this season

OTTAWA – Ottawa Fury FC and the New York Red Bulls II meet for the second time this season on Saturday afternoon at TD Place with the first game between the teams having produced a seven-goal thriller. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. ET.

  • Current record: 5-4-4, 19pts

  • Fury FC rebounded from its first loss since May 13 with a 1-0 victory against Orlando City B on Tuesday afternoon at TD Place as Steevan Dos Santos scored the winning goal.

  • Canadian international Carl Haworth made his first start of the season after recuperating from an ankle injury suffered in preseason, and notched the assist on Dos Santos’ goal.

  • Ottawa has earned victory in each of its last three outings at TD Place, helping the side move into sixth place in the Eastern Conference.

  • Dos Santos’ goal was his second in the league this season, and his first since a 1-0 victory against the Richmond Kickers on April 15.

  • The Red Bulls II fell 2-0 to Bethlehem Steel FC last Friday night as the club suffered its first defeat to Steel FC in the series between the clubs.

  • Former Red Bulls Academy player Adam Najem had a goal and assist for Bethlehem in the win as New York fell for a second consecutive contest.

  • The Red Bulls II are now in the eighth and final playoff position in the Eastern Conference after suffering five defeats in their last seven games.
