Energy FC wraps up road trip with visit to Vancouver

VANCOUVER, B.C. – OKC Energy FC concludes a three-game trip through Cascadia on Saturday afternoon as it squares off with Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 at Thunderbird Stadium. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. PT.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 news and notes

  • Current record: 4-7-2, 14pts

  • Vancouver fell for a second consecutive outing last Saturday night as it lost 2-1 to Sacramento Republic FC at Papa Murphy’s Park.

  • Terran Campbell scored after just five minutes for WFC2, but Republic FC rallied to earn victory and keep Vancouver outside the playoff positions.

  • WFC2’s Deklan Wynne has made two appearances so far for New Zealand at the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup as the All Whites have faced Russia and Mexico.

  • Goalkeeper Spencer Richey has recorded three shutouts in eight starts this season, and holds a .718 save percentage.

OKC Energy FC news and notes

  • Current record: 5-6-2, 17pts

  • Energy FC fell 3-2 on Monday night to Seattle Sounders FC 2 at Starfire Stadium, bringing a three-game undefeated streak to an end.

  • Despite being down a player in the second half, OKC rallied back to score twice and level the game on goals by Alex Dixon and Andy Craven, only for David Olsen to notch the winner for S2 in the 90th minute.

  • Miguel Gonzalez will be suspended for Saturday’s game after his red card against Seattle.

  • Andy Craven’s goal was his third for the club since arriving in a trade in May. Craven and Dixon are now tied for the team high with three goals apiece.
