NASHVILLE (June 21, 2017) – Nashville SC U23, a playoff contender for the PDL’s South Atlantic Division, fell to Peachtree City by a score of 3-2 at Vanderbilt soccer stadium in Nashville, TN.  The physically contested match was the 3rd meeting between these two sides with Nashville SC U23 winning 2 of the 3.

The visitors opened the scoring when Matthew WooLing and Tedd Fidler connected on back to back goals in the 22nd and 27th minutes.  WooLing assisted Fidler on the first and scored off a Fidler assist on the second.

The home team tallied their first goal in the 31st minute when Martim Galvão recovered the ball deep in the Peachtree city 18-yard box and slipped the ball into the net for a goal.  The first half ended with the visitors leading by a score of 2-1.

Nashville SC U23 pulled even in the 61st minute when Logan Paynter served up a cross for Fletcher Ekern to finish with a soft touch on the goal line.  Nashville SC was forced to play with only ten men for the final 13 minutes after Joe Kerridge was sent off for his 2nd yellow card.

Moments after Kerridge was sent off, Michael Brezovsky of Peachtree City was able to get on the end of a long free kick to lob an arching ball over the NSC U23 keeper for the go ahead/game winning goal.

NSC U23 was given a chance to draw even when Nick Nelson, Peachtree City keeper drug down NSC U23’s Kyle McLagan in the box.  Unfortunately, Fletcher Ekern’s penalty struck the crossbar and went out of play.
