Swope Park welcomes Switchbacks for midweek clash

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Swope Park Rangers welcome fellow Western Conference playoff contender Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC to Children’s Mercy Victory Field on Wednesday night looking to shake off the disappointment of a late draw in their last outing. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CT.

Swope Park Rangers news and notes

  • Current record: 5-4-2, 17pts

  • The Rangers twice took the lead from the penalty spot, but were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw against Phoenix Rising FC on Sunday as Didier Drogba scored twice for the visitors at Children’s Mercy Victory Field.

  • Kevin Oliveira and Nansel Selbol both found the net with penalty kicks in either half for Oliveira’s third and Selbol’s second goal of the season respectively.

  • Swope Park’s James Musa leads the team, and sits eight in the USL with 714 passes attempted in his 10 appearances this season. The New Zealand midfielder has created five scoring chances, and has an 86.4 accuracy rate.

  • The Rangers have a 17.5 percent conversion rate on their chances this season, with 17 goals in 11 games so far in 2017.

  • Colorado Springs goalkeeper Moise Pouaty leads the USL with 39 saves in his 10 appearances since joining the club.
