Steel FC look to continue run of form, win season series

HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Harrisburg City Islanders and Bethlehem Steel FC meet for the third and final time this regular season with both teams having taken victory once previously, but the current fortunes of each club heading in different directions. Kickoff at FNB Field is set for 7 p.m. ET.

Harrisburg City Islanders news and notes

  • Current record: 2-6-4, 10pts

  • The City Islanders winless streak reached nine games on Saturday night as the side fell 2-0 to the Charlotte Independence at the Sportsplex at Matthews.

  • Harrisburg now sits in last place in the USL’s Eastern Conference, after losing each of its past three outings.

  • The City Islanders’ downturn in form has seen its attack struggle, with the side having scored only three goals in it past six games.

  • Defender Lee Nishanian is the only player to have played every minute in the regular season so far for the City Islanders.

Bethlehem Steel FC news and notes

  • Current record: 6-6-1, 19pts

  • Steel FC moved into fifth place in the Eastern Conference on Friday night as it defeated the New York Red Bulls II 2-0 at MSU Soccer Park.

  • Adam Najem scored his first professional goal in the win, and also added an assist on Santi Moar’s second-half tally, as Bethlehem defeated New York for the first time in its history.

  • Bethlehem has now won three of its last four outings, scoring eight goals in that span. Seku Conneh leads the team with seven strikes this season.

  • Goalkeeper Jake McGuire is second in the USL with 38 saves this season, and has posted a .810 save percentage with four shutouts.
