Matinee at TD Place sees Fury FC, OCB looking to rebound

OTTAWA – Ottawa Fury FC and Orlando City B will square off in a special matinee kickoff at TD Place on Tuesday as the clubs meet for the first time in their histories level on points just outside the top eight in the Eastern Conference. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. ET, and the Video Assistant Referee system will be employed in the contest.

Ottawa Fury FC news and notes

  • Current record: 4-4-4, 16pts

  • Fury FC saw its four-game undefeated streak end on Saturday night as it fell 1-0 to the Rochester Rhinos at Capelli Sport Stadium.

  • The defeat pushed Ottawa into ninth place in the Eastern Conference standings, and marked the first time the side had been held scoreless in a league contest since May 13.

  • Saturday’s game saw Carl Haworth’s first appearance this season for Fury FC. The club’s MVP a year ago, the Canadian international had been sidelined by injury at the start of this season.

  • Ottawa has only accumulated 16 yellow cards this season, tied for the third-fewest in the USL.

Orlando City B news and notes

  • Current record: 4-5-4, 16pts

  • Orlando fell in the first game of its trip to Canada as Toronto FC II took a 1-0 win last Wednesday afternoon at the Ontario Soccer Centre.

  • The defeat was the first time OCB had been held scoreless in a game since an April 27 scoreless draw with Saint Louis.

  • A 2016 All-League selection, OCB defender Zach Carroll leads the team with 26 interceptions this season, and has won 27 of 34 aerial duels.

  • Four members of Orlando’s squad represent Canada, with midfielder Jordan Schweitzer having played this year for the country’s U23 National Team.
