San Antonio looks to get back in win column against Roughnecks

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio FC will look to get back on a winning track when it plays host to Tulsa Roughnecks FC on Saturday night, with the Roughnecks aiming to bring SAFC’s shutout streak to an end at Toyota Field. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CT.

San Antonio FC news and notes

  • Current record: 9-0-4, 31pts

  • San Antonio played to a second consecutive 0-0 draw last Saturday night against OKC Energy FC, which saw the side extend its undefeated streak to 13 games.

  • SAFC is now two points behind Real Monarchs SLC in the Western Conference standings, but would move ahead with a win on Saturday with the Monarchs idle until Monday night.

  • San Antonio’s 10th shutout of the season saw the club extend its shutout streak to 646 minutes. It is now 112 minutes back of Rio Grande Valley’s USL record 758-minute shutout streak set last season.

  • The Roughnecks’ up-and-down season continued last Sunday as it conceded twice late to fall 3-1 to the Swope Park Rangers at Children’s Mercy Victory Field.

  • Tulsa has lost three of its past four league outings, with the only win in that span coming against the Portland Timbers 2 on May 27.

  • The Roughnecks put up an impressive battle against defending Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup champion FC Dallas on Wednesday night in the tournament’s Fourth Round, but fell 2-1 late on an own goal.

  • Tulsa defeated San Antonio in a penalty shootout when the teams met in the Open Cup Third Round as goalkeeper Fabian Cerda scored the winning goal after the sides had finished scoreless through regulation and overtime.
