OTTAWA – After Ottawa Fury FC had thought it attained a first-half goal, Sito Seone left little doubt in his second-half strike as Fury FC earned a 1-0 victory against the Harrisburg City Islanders on Saturday at TD Place. Seone’s goal was an element of justice for he and Fury FC as it appeared that he should have been awarded first-half score. With the victory, Ottawa extends its unbeaten streak to four (3-0-1). Ottawa improves to 4-3-4 (16 points) overall and 2-1-2 at home. Harrisburg falls to 2-5-4 (10 points) overall and 1-5-1 on the road.

Three Things That Mattered:

• 1. Ottawa’s Sito Seone certainly should have come away with a first-half goal, and in the second half he had the good fortune of being in the right spot for a rebound in the 55th minute to give Fury FC a 1-0 lead. Jamar Dixon took a shot from the right side of the box, saved by Harrisburg goalkeeper Sean Lewis. The ball popped out toward Seone’s path and he rushed in for the tally. It was a moment of justice for Seone and Fury FC, because he thought he had the game’s opening goal in the 29th minute. Seone’s shot from the left side of the box caromed off of the underside of the crossbar, hit the ground and then popped away from the goal. The Ottawa bench and fans were in unison in pleading for a goal to be awarded. Replays clearly showed the ball had bounced over the goal line, but Ottawa had to forge ahead. Seone eventually broke through.

• 2. Harrisburg’s front line included the first regular-season appearance for Jake Bond. Bond drew some attention in Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup play with a brace during the City Islanders’ 3-0 win against the Premier Development League’s Reading United AC. Bond was subbed off in place of Jonny Mendoza in the 68th minute after recording just one shot on goal. The attack hit a stumbling block, though, as Aaron Wheeler was visibly limping halfway through the opening half. Harrisburg Head Coach Bill Becher had to burn an early sub as he brought in Michael Olla in the 24th minute.

• 3. Fury FC midfielder and team captain Lance Rozeboom returned to the lineup after missing last week’s 1-1 draw against Bethlehem Steel FC because of a knee injury. Rozeboom’s midfield play was sorely missed the last time out. His distribution was spot-on Saturday with nearly 90 percent passing accuracy.
