Swope Park, Roughnecks meet in key matchup for Western playoff race

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Swope Park Rangers and Tulsa Roughnecks FC meet for the first time this season at Children’s Mercy Victory Field with the Roughnecks sitting two points ahead of the Rangers in the Western Conference standings. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. CT.

Swope Park Rangers news and notes

  • Current record: 4-4-1, 13pts

  • The Rangers earned a 0-0 draw against San Antonio FC last Saturday night at Toyota Field, but the result saw the side move out of the top eight in the Western Conference.

  • Swope Park leads the USL with a pass completion rate of 83.8 percent, and averages 450 completed passes per game.

  • The Rangers will be without playmaker Kevin Oliveira for Sunday’s game after his selection for Cape Verde’s African Cup of Nations qualifying game against Uganda on Saturday.

  • Swope Park fell for the first time since last September in its most recent outing at Children’s Mercy Victory Field, having won nine consecutive games prior to San Antonio’s win on May 26.

Tulsa Roughnecks FC news and notes

  • The Roughnecks return to action after recording a 3-1 victory against the Portland Timbers 2 on May 27 in their last contest.
