PEACHTREE CITY, GA (June 3, 2017) – In what was a tale of two very different halves, Nashville SC U23 managed to hold off Peachtree City MOBA for another victory and remain undefeated this season despite finishing the game a man down.

In the first game of a five-game road trip, Nashville SC began against Peachtree City with the same dominant form opponents have grown accustomed to seeing from the first-place team in the division.  While the first half saw action on both ends of the field, it was the visiting team, Nashville SC U23 who found the goal first and in familiar fashion, off a set piece. This time it was Patrick Nielsen, the Danish international and member of this week's PDL team of the week, who capitalized on an NSC U23 corner kick and put his team in the lead.  Later in the half it was NSC U23's leading goal scorer (4 on the season) Martim Galvão that found the net by converting a penalty following a hand ball by Peachtree City in the box.  Both goals can be viewed here.

The 2nd half began with NSC U23 leading 2-0 but the action favored the home team.  Peachtree City MOBA pressed relentlessly on the NSC goal for the entire half.  Apart from a spectacular free kick taken by Dalton Pando that dipped over the wall and struck the crossbar, the 2nd half highlights belonged to the home team.

It was Khaliil Stewart who found the net for Peachtree City when his shot ricocheted off a defender and into the goal bringing the home team within one.  Minutes later, NSC U23 went down a man when midfielder Alex Stoiljkovic was sent off after receiving his second yellow card.  Alex will miss Tuesday's match in Columbia, SC against SC United FC.

Peachtree City MOBA continued to press throughout the 2nd half, eventually moving their keeper to the attacking end of the field in an effort to find goal.  This tactic nearly paid off when a Peachtree corner kick was headed forcefully off the crossbar and nearly into the goal.  Fortunately for NSC U23, their defense held strong and passed its first serious test in hanging on to defeat Peachtree City by a final score 2-1.

Nashville SC’s quest to remain undefeated this season continues in Columbia, SC, on Tuesday, June 6th at 7pm when they face SC United FC.  Follow Nashville SC social media handles for information about the availability of a live stream
