NASHVILLE (May 28, 2017) – Nashville SC U23 remains perfect and once again demonstrated its depth using 6 subs to beat SC United FC visiting from Columbia, SC.

The scoreless first-half saw the home team looking understandably tired, playing its second match in 48 hours.  In what was a balanced half, both Nashville SC U23 and SC United had chances on goal but neither team could capitalize.  Looking to gain an advantage, NSC U23 head coach Kyle Roelke subbed in Antioch’s Shak Adams for Hector Cantele in the 40th minute.

Both teams started the 2nd half with the same roster that ended the first.  Roelke didn’t wait long to shake things up bringing Fletcher Ekern and Brad Ross off the bench.  With fresh legs, the home team began to control possession, tempo and eventually found the net in the 69th minute when center-back Kyle McLagan headed home the contest’s first goal.

McLagan wasn’t done scoring on the night.  The tall center-back found goal again when he headed home a set piece neatly served up by Portuguese international Martim Galvão. The home team continued to control the half aided by the additional fresh legs of Trygve Ellingstad and Johnny Heckman who spelled Logan Paynter and Martim Galvão.  Ultimately Nashville SC U23 proved too dominant for the visitors and finished the game strong for a 2-0 victory.

Nashville SC continues its undefeated season and begins its first stretch of road games against Peachtree City MOBA travelling to Atlanta, GA on Saturday, June 3rd at 7pm.  Follow www.nashvillesc.com and @nashvillesc on social media platforms for updates about viewing options for Nashville SC U23 away games.
